UK International Airlines has published its flight Schedule. Flights start from East Midlands Airport Derby/Nottingham on Friday 19th October, 2007 for Sharjah (UAE) and Islamabad (Pakistan).

Initially there will be 2 weekly round trips starting on Tuesdays and Fridays. From 7th December 2007 these will increase to 3 weekly trips, InshAllah

EMA gets musical to celebrate new Pakistan service

Nottingham East Midlands airport (EMA) will be entertaining travellers in its check-in hall with music this week to mark the beginning of a service to Pakistan.

The commencement of a new route operated by UK International Airlines (UKIA) will be celebrated with a range of different types of cultural music being played to see off the first passengers.

Twice-weekly services will travel to Islamabad via Sharjah, near Dubai, with the first flight taking off this Friday.

Penny Coates, managing director of EMA, said: 'This announcement is a fantastic endorsement of our first class facilities here at the airport and is a real coup for everyone involved in developing this link to a new country.

'The service has generated positive interest so far and we are sure the people of the East Midlands region and beyond will make good use of this route.'

Mir Zaman, managing director of UKIA, said that the carrier was 'delighted' to offer the new link, which is expected to appeal to a diverse audience, particularly in the Midlands, Yorkshire and Lancashire.

New long haul service to Pakistan
To celebrate the launch of the first scheduled long-haul service to Pakistan with UK International Airlines (UKIA), East Midlands Airport is transforming their check in hall to host an array of cultural music to see off the first passengers.

With the assistance of local performers from The Dhol Enforcement Agency based in Leicester, the terminal will become a vibrant and lively atmosphere for passengers travelling on the flight as well as friends and family say goodbye.

Among the hustle and bustle of the inaugural flight will be Penny Coates, Managing Director of East Midlands Airport “This announcement is a fantastic endorsement of our first class facilities here at the Airport and is a real coup for everyone involved in developing this link to a new country. The full service commences twice weekly flights to Islamabad via Sharjah (near Dubai) this Friday and will depart each Tuesday and Friday.

The flights will enable customers to visit their ancestral homes, do business, make connections with other flights, or simply travel for leisure. Passengers from all over the UK are expected to use East Midlands Airport, as its central location makes it a convenient option for travellers wherever they reside.

I contacted UKIA last night about direct flights from Glasgow to Pakistan and the responce was very possitive.

They basicly said they know about the huge links between Glasgow and Pakistan and the current situation with PIA and they do have plans to serve GLA.

UK Int’l Airlines operation commences today

ISLAMABAD: UK International Airlines - a UK based European carrier is starting operations on Nottingham-Sharjah-Islamabad sector and vice versa from Saturday.

The airline will operate two flights per week to begin with and will subsequently increase to six flights per week from January next. This is yet another milestone in attracting quality airlines after the revival of Lufthansa.

The first flight 322 is scheduled to arrive at Islamabad International Airport at 1145 hours.

The Management of Civil Aviation Authority, Islamabad Airport has made all arrangements to facilitate the foreign carrier. app

I do not understand what benefit they will get by starting routes like Nepal and Gambia, I mean starting routes in India and Middleast are okay. Is there a high demand? Ultimately a high revenue.

UK based European carrier commences its operation to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (APP): UK International Airlines, a UK based European carrier has commenced its operation with its inaugural flight no. IH-003 on Saturday which landed here at Islamabad International Airport carrying 120 passengers.

According to a statement of the Airport Manager Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), this European carrier is fourth registered Airlines of UK will operate twice a week from Nottingham-Sharjah-Islamabad and vice versa.

At arrival the passengers were warmly received by Ilyas Business Development Manager and Javed Hussain Shah Station Manager of UK International Airlines along with officials form Civil Aviation Authority.

Haji Abdul Khaliq Chairman of the airline a British born Muslim of Pakistan origin also arrived on this inaugural flight.

Haji Abdul Khaliq also held a press conference here at Islamabad International Airport immediately after his arrival on inaugural flight.

The Chairman of the airlines informed the journalists about salient features of this European carrier.

The UK International Airlines is the fourth registered airline of UK.

It is going to introduce Halal Food and Islamic culture, on board.

Its slogan is Islamic Way of life where a Muslim family can comfortably travel.

It will introduce non-alcoholic drinks and halal food. Lasi and Mango juice will be provided during the flight.

The Chairman while replying to a question informed that Boeing 767 is going to operate on this route having capacity of 198 Passenger.

At the moment two (2) aircrafts are dedicated on this sector.

He further disclosed that direct Hajj flights from UK to Jeddah are going to start this year by UK International Airlines.

These aircraft of the UK International Airlines are on ownership basis and not on lease basis.

PIA is providing ground handling facility to this airline at Islamabad international airport.

The interaction of national flag carrier with European carrier will get benefit of maintaining safety standards and high standard of hygiene.

At the end, the Chairman emphasized that its company intends to invest in Aviation sector in Pakistan.
