Up close and presonal

Post by ConnieMan »

Yesterday was awesome day for me, our Sky diving got delay due to pre bookings by tours and groups, so we will do it next month or if opportunity with someone canceling there booking came earlier.

Even with this delay things turned awesome for me as i went to Airport at around 10AM yesterday to capture Air Canada's B/N B77M on its delivery flight for the very first time to Toronto by doing passes with Electra 10 before setting its wheels first time on Canadian runway 23. In reality its 3rd B777-300ER Fin# 733 for Air Canada but first aircraft to be delivered to CYYZ in Toronto's history!!. I spent 4hrs on foot trying to find this bird but couldn't initially as it was parked hidden in B747 hanger as it arrived at wierd hour at 1:30AM night before!!. So i found out that employee party was going to be held at 2pm and around 1:30 Pm i started my search and it wasn't till later in evening that i found her tucked away between hangers and NO ONE could see her from outside or even going around hangers easily!, Air Canada did very good job keeping it out of sight  . Anyways couple of my Air Canada friends came up to me and asked what was i doing, while they knew it before hand i was on my search eagerly to see the new bird, so they invited me and took me to see new aircraft in the hanger and up close and inside of it. Its huge bird specially when you are walking around and underneath its belly. Electra 10 was also there parked in front of number #2 engine but was dwarfed by shear size of it!!. Wing of B77M is a lot bigger then whole wingspan of Electra 10 .
I also went in the cockpit, cabin and into the crew rest bunks, i have at say that crew rest section above rear cabin is twice the size of B744's crew rest and same goes for rear galley as its same yet twice the size of MD11's galley!!

I took many pictures and i will send them to Abbas so he can post them for me soon. Its beautiful and specious inside specially the way all over heads are built and all lighting is done, Air Canada have 28 self contained capsules in the first class and nice wide seats in economy class. When i got home my left leg got cramped and now i am limping inside the house yet it was well worth every bit of it.

That is Lockheed Electra 10, regi# CF-TCC. That aircraft is the first aircraft that Air Canada started service between Vancouver and Seattle in 1937.

I am glad you liked the pictures, yes they turned out really nice. I have lots more from all angles and positions. :D
