I think we should count our blessings that these accidents are all happening on the ground.

It does seem a little strange that all of a sudden a succession of these incidents is occuring and I think CCTV cameras should be fitted at various parts of the apron area to check on such things.

PIA it seems is becoming more and more 'ground accident prone'.

Well at least in ATR incident, as reported the sheer pin broke, apparantly the driver is not at fault. The guy in the cockpit controlling the brakes is to be blamed. If while towing (pulling) the sheer pin breaks, the person in the cockpit has to act swiftly to apply brakes to avoid the ac hitting the tractor ahead.
You are very right Tailwind. There was no fault on Tug driver's part. The person on the brakes (in the cockpit) did not have any clue to apply the brakes as he was transferred from TGS to engineering, and was not given training to handle these kind of situations. On top of it, the middle management (Dy. Chief engineer level) gave the name of a senior tech and when that chap appeared before the investigation board, he simply refused that he was not in the cockpit.

Now what do you say?

You have said it all. Do you still want me to say something?????The issue you have highlighted is more of ethical than technical in nature. Indeed Great People (USED TO) Fly with PIA.

The aircraft towing activity is part of the SWissport Contract. Yet PIA engineering has been doing it for the last six months and Swissport collects the fee.

^ Okay, thanks for correction.

Is it still inside the maintenance hangar or removed from maintenance hangar?

Can someone confirm - thank you.

Aha, so I guess PIA now has mashAllah 6 ATRs in service; any idea when is the 7th one coming over or it has already?

Moreover, any idea if PIA is leasing two ATR-72s as well??
