I hope this flight sustain and flourish, as after a while seeing some sort of out of box destination added by PIA, and travelling from Lahore to Sydney in just 12 hours is very very convenient for many of the passengers, PIA have some sort of edge on ME3 which back tracks and have total journey time greater than 18 plus hours on average.

PIA first announced twice a week flight, once from Lahore and once from Karachi, but now its only once a week.
This is beyond hopeless. The only direct flight into Australia and PIA does not even have the guts to plan twice a week.
How will they handle the crew, keep the plane on the ground for 30 hours, so the same crew flies back the plane.
This reminds of me of the last days of New York, when PIA reduced the flights to once a week.
PIA needs a plane like the A330-800, a 250 seat aircraft, long range, fuel efficient, for routes where PIA can opeate around 3 weekly flights.
A330-800 can operate Australia, Canada and USA routes, while the larger sister ship A330-900 can be acquired for UK, Europe and some Far East routes.
With oil remaining at 100 dollars a barrel for the near future PIA needs an aircraft that is not heavy on fuel.
The 777-200ERs should be converted to cargo, with Pakistani exports increasing PIA should be able to handle the cargo for around 3-4 pure cargo 777s.

77LRs schedule would be stretched serving 5X to YYZ and now this Sydney ops. Lack of suitable aircraft might be the reason PIA started only LHE service instead of both LHE and KHI.

If you want PIA 777-300ER = 77W LHE-SYD-LHE then you need permission Australia allow 77W because last 2016 Thai Airways = TG tried to apply A359 BKK-MEL-BKK start November 2016 but waited long time till April 2017 changed from 77W to 359 but you need Australia permission for AP-BMG & AP-BMH add with AP-BGY & AP-BGZ to SYD because in 2003 PIA tried permission USA for AP-BGN/O/P/Q/R/S to Chicago ORD same like Toronto YYZ but unfortunately there lease / rent aircraft. Any aircraft 772/3/LR allowed to YYZ anytime.

I know the range 77W is enough for PIA ultra long haul ops. Emirates serves many US cities with 77W. Someone said in above comments that PIA 77Ws are not equipped with crew rest areas. You offer people 45KG, they bring 45 KG. You offer them 30KG, they bring 30KG. Higher handling costs, higher fuel costs, lower cargo capacity, lower excess baggage revenue = higher operational cost, lower profit margin.
People will take PIA because it’s direct not because they can pack another pair of shoes and a couple of extra shirts and sweaters.

Rightly said, there is no point to offer extra baggage specially when fuel is super expensive, similarly I notice on YYZ route 28KG per piece baggage is allowed instead of standard 23KG per piece. Better option would be to add more seats by adding new seat column in both of the B-777 LR, from existing 3-3-3 configuration to 3-4-3 configuration.
