Re: Pakistan Navy Planning to Acquire Twinjet Aircraft
what are they looking at. very vague requirement, only range and T/O wt specified. What about no of pax, cargo or payload. Anything from A220, Sukoi 100, ERJ195 or B737 can be candidates.
Unable to fathom the role and task for such an aircraft in PN operations

Probably an aircraft in the league of global 6500 or 737 for MPA
Pak Navy long indicated requirement for a jet powered MPA to counter the Indian Navy's P8 Posiedon

You cannot counter an MPA with an MPA. Most likely they will never come close to each other.
Also a single aircraft cannot be the basis of a new class of MPAs in the navy. You need atleast 2-3 to start a fleet.
It could just be for VIP transport.

Re: Pakistan Navy Planning to Acquire Twinjet Aircraft
Sir by countering I never intended to mean a dogfight between the two. It is the loitering time, speed, range and additional load carrying capability I was referring to. Besides, now PN role and operation has extended to Gawadar. Probably, they want a MPA based on a twinjet airplane to cover whole coastal quicker and faster without requiring to land time and again for refuelling. Just a wild guess.

Re: Pakistan Navy Planning to Acquire Twinjet Aircraft
The aircraft should be suitable for subsequent modification as Long-Range Maritime Patrol (LRMP) aircraft capable of the following missions:
- Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR)
- Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW)
- Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW)
- Airborne Early Warning (AEW)

Re: Pakistan Navy Planning to Acquire Twinjet Aircraft
we are making leaps and bounds in official corporate jet fleet. From small citations and learjets, now the trend is intercontinental range, stand up cabin heavy metal. Are we a super power that our area of influence requires a 6000-7000 nm range VVIP jets.
By the looks and colour scheme, this new toy does not appear to be for ASW role.
What a pity.

Presently this Embraer Lineage 1000 is in basic colours of its former Chinese operator (aircraft registration B-3203).
