Apparently, PIA flights between Pakistan and Canada are using European Members (EU) states airspace. It indicates PIA aircraft overflying EU allowed.

July 4, PIA Boeing 777 (AP-BGZ) Toronto to Karachi flight PK798 used airspace of European Members (EU) states including Norway, Sweden and Estonia.

July 5, PIA Boeing 777 (AP-BGY) Lahore to Toronto flight PK783 used airspace of European Members (EU) states including Finland and Sweden.

Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan informed the national assembly that appeal will be filed against EASA decision soon.

Pakistani ambassadors in Europe are also win touch with the European authorities on this issue.

The verdict was given before investigation.

262 pilots with FAKE & DUBIOUS LICENCES.

Thanks to this sweeping statement our entire aviation industry is on the verge of collapse as other countries are now grounding Pakistani pilots.

Who will be next, engineers who fix engines. I mean the ATR of PK661 was an engineering issue so does that mean all engineers are fake???

A lot of those pilots are not even working anymore.

Its almost like the government was looking for a reason to shut PIA down, and it found one.

Officials belonging to Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) participated in an important teleconference on July 9.

DG Pakistan CAA and Deputy DG Pakistan CAA Regulatory attended the conference. EASA officials participated from European Union (EU) Headquarters in Brussels.

On questions raised by EASA officials, Pakistan CAA officials gave briefing on dubious pilots licence issue. Pakistan CAA officials also gave information about dubious pilots licence investigation and actions taken.

Pakistan CAA officials also informed about procedure for issuing licences to pilots.

EASA has asked Pakistan CAA to provide details of pilots' licences report by July 21.

I think banning overflights will not serve Pakistan any purpose. The little income they get from it will be cut off and the allowance to over fly Sweden Norway to Canada provided (including today and tomorrow) could be taken away. It will only create more ill feelings and hurdles.

Why should they not disallow flights when the airline has not complied with basic safety recommendations and has declared that it has pilots with mischievously earned licenses?

This is a public safety matter. If God forbid something happens on their soil, their public will be extremely angry about it. PIA and more importantly PCAA needs to transparent about its misdealings/mishandling, come clean, learn lessons and act appropriately in the future. Can this happen?

Fares from UK to Pakistan rise by 300pc after PIA ban

LONDON:
Ticket prices for flights to Pakistan from the United Kingdom have tripled as Pakistan's national carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been banned from flying to three destinations in the United Kingdom, European Union and the United States.

A return flight from London, Manchester and Birmingham to Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi used to cost an average of £500-650 but after PIA was suspended from operating by the UK's Civil Aviation Authority (UKCAA), ticket prices have seen a three-fold increase to the £1,500-2,700 mark.

According to Skyscanner, a major travel website, the cheapest return ticket from London to Lahore is offered by Turkish Airlines which costs a whopping £1,445 which is almost Rs300,000. British Airways, which recently started operations in Pakistan, is offering the same flight for over £2,000 which would cost the traveller over Rs400,000.

A flight by Qatar Airways and Emirates would set back a single traveller over £2,500 which is an unprecedented price for a return ticket from the UK to Pakistan. Another flight by Qatar Airways and British Airways costs £2,796.

This increase in price is partially down to the PIA ban but there is also another major factor. The flight operations restored so far are far smaller then the pre-covid times. Once the flight operations are restored to their original capacity, I expect the ticket prices to come down dramatically. Banning PIA is especially cumbersome to the elderly Pakistani population and those with young families who preferred a non stop flight between UK & Pakistan.

Due to Covid world class airlines have unfortunately had to let so many thousand staff go. PIA remains unaffected. It still seems to maintain the same staff except those who should never have been onboarded in the first instance: those with fake degrees / dubious licences.

The famous TK/PK rules of discussion (ROD) deal has finally been completed with the blessings of Ghulam Sarwar khan, Airmarshall (retd) Arshad Malik CEO PIA, Aviation division PTI government, yes Turkish airline is 100 percent beneficiary, PIA has lost its share in business which otherwise would have benefiteds both the airline's, now the sole beneficiary
Will be the Turkish airline that too a blessing & disguise, a god gifted deal, salute to all those who then opposed the deal without any knowledge of the TK/PK deal, & then promised to turn around the airline, where are those so called champions, finally the great national airline PIA is now literally coming to standstill, conspiracy started in the year 2011 is now comings to it's finality. The so called leaders must have now realised that playing in the hands of touts & damaging their own national airline have paid them nothing but only the destruction.

Do you have any information regarding the deal that is now in place?
