Trip to Toronto

Post by Vaqar Khan »

Hello everyone! My family and I flew to Toronto from Birmingham in May 2016 and returned in June 2016. I had been meaning to post these pictures earlier, but never got around to it, till now

Outbound we flew on KLM from Birmingham to Amsterdam Schiphol and then on to Toronto Pearson.

OUTBOUND

The BHX-AMS sector was on KLM Cityhoppers Embraer ERJ 190-100. This was my first occasion to fly on any of the ERJ series aircraft and was pleasantly surprised at the experience. It is quite a comfortable aircraft for short hops, especially where operating frequent flights on the same sector is required.

Very clean and spacious terminal at Schiphol with abundant seating. You can actually borrow pillows and blankets to rest between flights. Seats have charging points. Amsterdam Schiphol prides itself on it's green credentials. The coach which ferried us from the remote stand to the terminal was solar powered. There are charging points on the ramp to charge batteries on these coaches and other ramp equipment for when it is not sunny.

RETURN JOURNEY

Our return flight was on Air France (KLM and Air France being the same group) routing Toronto Pearson - Paris-Charles de Gaulle - Birmingham. YYZ-CDG sector was on an Air France Boeing 777-300ER, whereas the CDG-BHX sector was a codeshare flight operated by Flybe Embraer E195. Apologies as I have only a few photographs as my DSLR camera battery had run out and also because it was an overnight flight.

Just managed to catch AP-BGZ departing from Toronto Pearson

Great photos. Loved the view of Billy bishop airport from CN tower. I watched quite a few planes take off and land while I was up there.

Not long ago PIA and AirFrance 777s had a run in.

Also Schiphol is one of my favourite airport.

Thanks for your kind comments Zulfiqar.

Yes, it is a fascinating view from the CN tower. We are going to Canada again this summer, this time on British Airways. Will try to add more to this thread then.

excellent captures specifically the massive wing view and closeup shot of City of Seoul; also liked the regional airport with lots of Dash8 traffic around, very scenic view from the CN tower height, thanks for sharing
