Karachi-Mumbai

Abbas correction AP-BDZ is 4 hours behind schedule today. It is right now operating as PK-776 from Leeds Bradford to Islamabad.

According to following news report, PIA intends to operate eight Airbus A310-800 aircraft in all-economy class configuration on flights to/from Persian Gulf states and Mumbai.

Are other four A310s in PIA fleet going to retain Business Class? Or are those four grounded/in storage due to weak financial health of the airline?

Recent news reports indicate only eight A310s operational in PIA fleet these days.

AP-BDZ & AP-BGP are the two Airbus A310's in all economy 227 pax configuration. AP-BEU & AP-BGS are next in line, however it appears that AP-BEB & BGQ might not be seen again.

Well its the oldest A/C amongst the A310's that were leased by PIA in year 2004. Also i travelled on BGQ in November last year between KUL & LHE. The A/C seemed to be in decent condition at that time. I think spare shortages have affected PIA's A310 operation's big time. They intend to have 8-10 Active/Operational A310's before the upcoming Hajj Season. 2 A310's will be scrapped for good by the end of this year

AP-BEU, AP-BEB, AP-BGS and AP-BEQ are in grounding conditions, because their economy class seats removed for all other 8 aircraft, for their All Economy Seating Configuration. AP-BGQ and AP-BEB are now listed for permanent ground.
