Shaheen Air's eighth 737-400 and 13th aircraft in its fleet.

Even though these 737-400s are from the 1992-94 era, I am just pleased that atleast a Pakistani airline is expanding in the right direction.

What I feel is that the shaheen is having strategy to purchase/lease aircrafts having around 5 to 6 years left in there life span and when the time to retire them came near they again look in the market for other type which again meets the same criteria. I think in this way they are getting planes on cheap prices and are changing the fleet with regular interval. It looks that the procurement dept of shaheen is having a strong team who is searching the whole world's airline for this purpose.

I'm curious to see more Shaheen trip reports with lots of pics. We have seen too many PIA and lots of Air Blue but not much as far as Shaheen is concerned.

Today (March 21) Shaheen Air Boeing 737-4Q8 (SP-LLL) performed test flight LOT-9501 from Perpignan–Rivesaltes Airport, France.

With twelve 737-400, five A320-232 and three A330-301, the total fleet of Shaheen Air would reach 20 aircraft by end of 2013.

This huge jump in capacity could really hurt PIA on regional routes to Middle East, UAE, Saudi Arabia, domestic and Far East.
