Re: Cockpit Visit Question
Of-course you can but there is a certain way to do everything. You will first call the Senior Purser
and ask him very Politely that If you can visit the cockpit or you would say that" Sir Could you please ask Captain If I can visit the cockpit ".There are 90% chances that you will get the chance.
Secondly ,take out your business card and write behind it your request to Capt' and send it to Capt' through Cabin Crew.
Well I always sit in the cockpit when I fly(My DAD in PIA) but recently I was coming back from LHE and it was B747-300 AP-BFW with new Paint(AND THE UNKNOWN CAPTAIN).I first asked the female cabin crew that who is the capt ,then I asked the Senior Cabin crew for to visit the cockpit but no result came out.But luckily after having our snacks ,the captain came down for a walk and I quickly ran upto to him and requested very Nicely "Sir Can I please visit the Cockpit for a while." He smiled and said YES! Come with me
.He took me up there and gave me a seat in the cockpit and He didn't even told me to go back
,And said.Seat belt baandlain beta ,hum landing ke liye ja rahe hain.
THATS HOW YOU DO IT...

Re: Cockpit Visit Question
Interesting question !
I'm also planning to go in Pakistan next week !
If somebody knows in advance the pilots of the flight PK770, could prevent them that they will have on board their plane an unconditional fan of the civil aviation and more particularly PIA who would be happy to visit the cockpit during the flight!
I am also going to try the option of the politeness, but if I indeed remember myself, during my last flights with the PIA this option did not regrettably pay.
Hope well and have well, isn’t It ?

Re: Cockpit Visit Question
You people are lucky as when I travelled from Kuwait to Sialkot on B733, the Captain and Co-pilot completely refuse to me for the visit of Cockpit.

Re: Cockpit Visit Question
I think under CAA rules only authorized operating flight crew is allowed to occupy cockpit during flight for safety reasons. So, under that rule cockpit crew can refuse passengers' request for visit to cockpit.
Unauthorized visit by someone to cockpit during flight reported by other members of crew or passengers to news media can also put cockpit crew in difficult position. So I think cockpit crew has to be careful.

Re: Cockpit Visit Question
salam hello
IF Captain or First officer or Copilot or FLight engineer know you very well before 11th September 2001 then they can invite you welcome into cockpit and they will instruct you DO NOT touch cockpit door and DO NOT open unlock cockpit. IF you need WC toilet or go back your passenger seat or cabin then they will check CCTV or door's eyeview or call cabin crew before they open cockpit door to let you go then you need ask them to inform cabin crew to let you back to cockpit. Yes CAA FAA instructed all pilot to EXTRA carefully due to security safety.
My old friend Captain ex-PIA fly Asiana 747400 did not allow me to see take off and landing but my other old friend British UK pilot Captain ex-BA 747400 invited me welcome to cockpit and sit jumpseat during take off and landing on Asiana because Pakistani pilot afraid of "Pakistan is bad country name". SAME like my deaf friend UAE Dubai's cousin Captain Emirates A340 asked me to welcome fly with him and he will invite me to jumpseat cockpit but funny Pakistani or Foregin pilot AFRAID cannot allow me or anyone to cockpit because of UAE national strong can show family or friend to visit cockpit and Emirates will NOT sack UAE national out of job.
My friend Thai pilot explained me understand IF Thai pilot know family or friend allow to look cockpit no problem EVEN any TG staff or spouse wife or husband or me ALLOWED sit cockpit jump seat take off and landing only Domestic and Japan and Hong Kong if FULL seat BUT cannot get jump seat on LONG flight example 4 four pilot.
CAA FAA WARNING all pilot PROMISE DO NOT let anyone to sit pilot during flight.
long time ago very good time to visit cockpit all major airlines but today very few rare to look cockpit

Re: Cockpit Visit Question
No matter what Airline it is,No matter what the rules are.Its totally upto the Captain in Command. He is the man in charge ,so his decision counts. If he allows you in then nobody can stop you.Positive natured pilots does allow people to visit or just have a look into the cockpit because they understand it's people's dream to visit a cockpit once in a life time. When the pilot allows you he judges the mental stability of the person ,if he is acting retard or over excited,he wont let you in.And many PIA pilots does allow people who are flying enthusiast and they even tell people about airplanes and stuff. On the other side ,the negative natured pilots or crackpots never allow you in coz they are cowards and always afraid that someone is gonna complain and they will be in trouble.so again it's totally apto the CAPTAIN.!

Re: Cockpit Visit Question
I bought my tickets for Pakistan !
I'm going to travel on PK770 on Sunday and I'm certainly going to repeat :
In high season, from Paris cdg just PIA proposes the best price best prices on return ticket.
And on sunday the flight from Paris fligh to Islamabad via Franckfort ! Two take off and Two landing
If I could visit the cockpit, I would be the happiest of the world! I'm waiting this time since I'm small !
Please, help me LOL
Thank you in advance

Re: Cockpit Visit Question
We must not call someone who acts as per rules and procedures as negative nurtured, crackpots, cowards etc etc. Bottom line is if the rules donot allow then its NO.Adnan Usman Khan wrote:Uzair Ansari wrote:........On the other side ,the negative natured pilots or crackpots never allow you in coz they are cowards and always afraid that someone is gonna complain and they will be in trouble.so again it's totally apto the CAPTAIN.!
