This
photo shows AP-AWH at an airfield in East Pakistan. Six
brand-new Twin Otters were delivered to PIA between November
1970 and March 1971. The former Sikorsky S-61N helicopter routes in East
Pakistan were resumed with these new Twin Otters. These sturdy
little airliners were most suitable and perfect for STOL (Short
Take-Off and Landing) operations in East Pakistan. During the
initial days of Pak-India war of 1971, on December 4, 1971, AP-AWH
was present at Dacca Airport in East Pakistan when it was
completely destroyed by Indian Air Force jets in an air-attack
on the airport |

Still
shot taken from video made by Umar Anis inside the flight deck
of AP-BCP on February 12, 1989. The A300 was flying from Lahore
to Karachi when Umar made this video. In this photo AP-BCP
registration is seen applied on a flight deck panel and below
the registration mark is aircraft's SELCAL code FL-AC. On
September 28, 1992, AP-BCP crashed into a hill, in poor
visibility and misty weather conditions, minutes before landing
at Kathmandu valley's Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal.
167 people died in this accident |
