This photo taken in 2009 at Karachi Airport shows shows one of four General Electric CF6-50E2 turbofan engines of PIA Boeing 747-240B Combi (AP-BAK) which returned to active service after getting its configuration changed from passenger/cargo mix to 468 seater aircraft in single class layout. PIA Engineering & Maintenance performed heavy maintenance i.e. Check "C" + L3/R3 door modification + full passenger conversion on aircraft AP-BAK successfully turning a cargo/passenger mix aircraft into a high capacity passenger carrier.

This aircraft was previously utilized for passenger/cargo mix operation in combi configuration with 234 passenger seats, after modifications this aircraft has been converted into full passenger configuration and is now capable to accommodate 468 passengers.

This modification was done with formal approval from CAA Pakistan in the form of Engineering Change Order (ECO). AP-BAK in full passenger configuration took part in PIA Hajj 2009 flight operations
