Crew does not need a visa to operate flights to Manchester. GD does the work.
It must be expired passport or maybe the news is wrongly produced.

According to news sources:
PIA has issued directive/advisory to cabin crew with rejected visas.
A PIA cabin crew member with rejected visa was deported and fine was imposed on the airline.
Traveling without visa is a violation of immigration laws.
PIA cabin crew members have been directed to inform manager scheduling about rejected visas.
In future, PIA will take action against cabin crew members who conceal rejected visa.
According to PIA spokesperson:
Border Force - UK has written a letter with concerns to PIA.
Ban has been imposed on the entry of PIA Flight Steward Imran Mehsud in UK. He will not be able to get travel facilities/documents as flight attendant in UK.
In some countries flight attendants are allowed to work/enter without visa, says PIA spokesperson.
PIA is investigating as directed by Border Force - UK, says airline's spokesperson.
