I think the new government should expect a request from PIA management for a financial bailout package for repairs of aircraft engines and APUs.

Speaks volumes of the competence or lack thereof of PIA Flight Operations and Technical staff if AP-BHW was despatched to Burundi without a functional APU and not checking if a ground cart was available there!

According to news sources, PIA flights affected due to a number of Boeing 777s in airline's fleet unavailable for flight operations include:
PIA Karachi to Toronto flight PK-786 delayed by over twelve hours. Flight was schedule to depart at 11:20 AM on August 12.
A number of passengers of PIA's cancelled August 10 Milan to Islamabad via Paris accommodated in hotel(s). Apparently the flight was cancelled due to unavailability of aircraft.

So why aren't they fixing it, rerouting payment towards this end? PIA does get money from the tickets purchased by passengers. Or that goes to salaries, pensions or whatever else?
