Notification of appointment of Air Marshal (Retired) Asim Suleiman as Chairman PIA is expected after Prime Minister's approval in coming days, according to newspaper reports.

The appointment of Air Marshal (Retd) Asim Suleman as Director General (DG) Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) was terminated, according to notification issued on March 1, 2018, by Cabinet Secretariat, Establishment Division, Government of Pakistan

The current Chairman PIA Squadron Leader (Retd.) Muhammad Irfan Elahi retired from the post of Secretary Aviation on April 20, 2018.

There shouldn't be any role for airforce personal in PIA. Irfan Ilahi was menace to whole Pakistani civil aviation industry.
