Comparing EK with PIA , NL , or ED even with SV or GF is not fair at all ... how u compare world no. 1 airline with others .. my other brothers here said well that these flights of EK, EY and QR give facilities that PIA, NL or Airblue not give with higher price than EK.

Remaining point is about aircraft was 13 years old and that not too old in aviation industry comparing to PIA B743s and Saudia B744s which they phased out just before 3 months after 27 yrs of service.

Provide EK facelities and services on PIA then ppl will be ready to fly with PIA rather than EK.

Ok I am agree it was not that old for world number one airline then what about Singapore airline, there everage is under 3 years. Why we can't compare Emirates with PIA? PIA is national flag career of world number 6 most populated country and Emirates is just airline of an oil company.
What facilities they give to Pakistanis? 3 4 3 seat configuration for sack of good IFE? peoples are travelling with them because they got no other options. Once CAA reduces there frequency then definitely PIA and other Pakistani airlines will increase and start new destinations. If they don't then definitely new airlines will start flying to Pakistan. ME3 squeezing blood out of Pakistani aviation and now body raising this issue at all. It has to be stopped and I am sure soon it will and my country's Airline will rise again. Only need to wake up that's it.

This morning my Qantas flight from London had to hold for 30 minutes before it could land. Take off for Karachi was also delayed 30 minutes. At least we made it. Many flights had been delayed or cancelled as DXB is operating on a single runway at present. Photos coming up soon.

As far as EK Staff is concerned, all staff today ( comprising of various nationalities) on 777-200LR were very professional, polite and patient with passengers on a packed flight.

The 3-4-3 on 777 may not be as good as PIA 3-3-3, however many other airlines if not most nowadays are using this configuration. Their IFE IS SUPERIOR to most. Qantas A380 seemed to lack the lustre of an Emirates A380. Their leg room and seat width may be slightly tighter , have to check that.
Other ME airlines also send a mix of new and old aircraft. E.g Qatar is sending 787 regularly.

Definitely alcohol service is a must to spite people like you, as for Indian movies arent they showing those since around 2005 or so?

Never knew this is the only difference between PIA and Emirates. Any airline in the world can become 'number 1' airline, just serve alcohol and offer Indian movies shows to passengers.

PIA will rise again inshallah. It is much improved airline compare to last couple of years. emurates is becoming like old women with lot of makeup around to show young and this crashed aircraft is good example of it.

baberblues I am not panic at all, but you seems ;-). Of course PIA needs to improve but same time Emirates frequency to Pakistan need to be corrected.

PIA was amongst the top 10 airlines of the world during the 1960's and 1970's, it was never the world's No.1 airline. There was still Pan Am, BOAC, Air France, Lufthansa, KLM and SAS to compete with in those days and yes they did have an on board bar serving the finest wines and spirits on their 707, 720B, DC-10 and early 747's pre-1979. Post 1979 alcohol was suspended and by that time i.e. the 1980's and onwards PIA's standard slowly started to decline, not necessarily because of the suspension of alcohol but in all respects. By the 1980's PIA had lost its top 10 spot amongst world airlines. As for showing Indian movies why not? Pakistan hasn't exactly done or shown much in the movie business that is worth remembering. We need to seriously do away with these petty prejudices.

With 1/7 of ek fleet, PIA had 10 such incidents in 2016. Moreover as any professional would know, most of these are rouine operational events encountered by all airlines. , this is no guage of an airline's safety record

EK showed off big head but how did EK crashed accident? it worst than PIA better. UAE captain and co pilot Australia. I never fly EK again
