PK 229 Diverting to Karachi

PK 229 Diverting to OPKC. She suffered bird hit on rotation . Amazed to see that how did she even continued to fly till Karachi and climbed normally.
Any news guys on this.?

Maybe PK-229 did not experience serious problem requiring immediate return to Lahore.

Probably cockpit crew after consulting with flight operations decided to divert flight to Karachi due to airline's main engineering facility at that airport to inspect/repair the aircraft or due to availability of alternate/spare aircraft at that airport to resume PK-229.

For the info of readers, flight PK-229 is performed from Lahore to Muscat and today PIA Airbus A310-324ET registration AP-BGP performed this flight. The A310 departed from Lahore at 1:01 PM and landed at Karachi at 3:05 PM.

According to Abb Takk news channel, PK-229 diverted to Karachi due to some technical problem in the aircraft.

What I believe is that maybe Karachi was the alternate airport that is why they decided to divert to Karachi. Secondly the aircraft did not suffered any sort of engine flame out and normally climbed to FL 360.
Lets see if anyone from Karachi can update on this.
It sure was a bird hit to engine number 1.

Business Plus channel confirms Lahore to Muscat flight PK-229 suffered bird hit and diverted to Karachi.

The A310 was carrying 120 passengers.

AP-BGP departed from Karachi at 8:25 PM to resume flight PK-229 to Muscat.

PK 230 approaching Multan now on its way back to Lahore.
Kudos to the engineering department that they manage to repair it in such less time.

Its getting really ridiculous how there is a continuing bird hit on one plane or another at LHE. Clearly there is not much being done in clearing the air field of birds. Isnt there any procedures CAA are taking to minimise the issue.
