AP-BGL Engine Damage Pics

Post by Moin »

Here are 3 pics taken after the accident at BHX airport where the fuel bowser scraped the side of BGL. The depth of the gash on the engine cowling was deep enough to expose the honeycomb inside:

^ Thank you Moin for sharing.

Btw, from these photos looks like damage is limited to engine cover or did internal side of the engine also suffer serious damage?

Looks like the damn truck driver was drunk.

The company which owns the fuel truck should be made to pay for damages and lost revenue.

This is all the damage that the engine sustained.

All damage and losses will be borne by the insurance company who will recover the same from the company that runs the fuel bowser.

Here's a wonderful set of photos sent by Ground Engineer Shafqat Kiyani.

Both the panels are bought from the Boeing Company.

From Boeing Company or engine manufacturer General Electric? Aren't GE90 engine parts like engine cover produced by General Electric?

The new engine looks white in colour, I guess it will be painted in PIA off-white colour at Karachi.
