Thats a big and gud news in some way...
May be saudi is also taking chunk of traffic whose further destination is europe /usa as emirates will soon close its mux section....with mux airport, people from far areas of country take their flights

Saudia's inaugural flight SV-800 from Jeddah to Multan on April 1, 2017, was performed by airline's Boeing 777-300ER registration HZ-AK28 in 'Watan Al Majed' livery.

Re: Saudia operated double daily to Multan
Obviously they did operated 77W during initial days but then switched to A330-200s.
it seems SV upgraded Multan as one regular and one extra flight on daily basis. Today also they r operating double daily
My point was surely they r getting high influx of passengers then why not upgrading Once and for all to a Daily 777-300ER !!

BTW, according to a newspaper report some days ago, Pakistani airlines using Airbus A320 family aircraft for flights between Jeddah and Multan often arrive in Multan with a number of baggage pieces left behind due to smaller baggage/cargo hold of the narrow-body aircraft. Such bad experiences are making passengers opting for Saudia flights with wide-body aircraft on this route.

No idea..Sometimes foreign airlines bring planes having not so good interior on routes where local economy is below average than on routes which are well local economcy is well off. May be plane to Ismalabad is more better than one to Multan (interior wise) ..BJ911 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 10:26 amObviously they did operated 77W during initial days but then switched to A330-200s.

Apart from this.. MUX has lost Shaheen and soon to be Emirates. so a big dip in traffic overall for MUX right now

Re: Saudia operated double daily to Multan
As Pak airlines fellts shringk and due to many factors their performance keeping on getting lower, one after the other all the routes will be taken over by ME3 and other low cost carriers of middle east. SaudiGulf is one recent major example which will likely take majority of traffic to Dammam. (The oil rich region where large number of expats work and live)Abbas Ali wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 10:34 am BTW, according to a newspaper report some days ago, Pakistani airlines using Airbus A320 family aircraft for flights between Jeddah and Multan often arrive in Multan with a number of baggage pieces left behind due to smaller baggage/cargo hold of the narrow-body aircraft. Finally a sensible decision comes through. Saudii airline merged twice daily A330 service into Daily Boeing 747 from Jeddah to Multan. Glad they listen to our thoughtsTuti Fruiti wrote: ↑Mon Oct 15, 2018 1:06 pm Not sure whats the logic behind and its pretty high load as well.
