Re: Another new livery by PIA?
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) all-white Boeing 777-200ER (AP-BMH) at Karachi Airport. This Boeing 777 is/was expected to be the first to wear airline's new livery.
For the time being, AP-BMH is expected to return to service without markings.
Thanks to Muhammad Ali Yazdani - Aer Pakistan for the photo!
Today, AP-BMH departed from Karachi at 11:13 AM as flight PK-316 to Lahore.

Re: Another new livery by PIA?
According to a number of Pakistani news channels, PIA due to its poor financial health has delayed/postponed plan to apply new livery on aircraft.
All-white PIA Boeing 777-200ER registration AP-BMH has small PIA logo painted near front door but interestingly it's not the logo of airline's latest corporate identity.
A PIA Airbus A320 painted all-white sitting inside Ispahani wide-body aircraft maintenance hangar at Karachi Airport.

Re: Another new livery by PIA?
PIA branding team(s) always try to be smart but fail. This is a tough job for them, even they don't know branding basics.
This airline really need a professional team for it's branding.
A320 in full while, is most probably AP-BLU which is inactive since long.

PIA says the new livery will be unveiled within days.
Boeing 777 registration AP-BMH returned to service without new livery due to abrupt grounding of her two sisterships.

Re: Another new livery by PIA?
BTW, PIA Boeing 777 registration AP-BMH was seen painted all-white more than a month ago in Ispahani wide-body aircraft maintenance hangar at Karachi Airport. The airline's new livery was officially also unveiled more than a month ago on April 6.
So, between April 6 and May 7 the airline should have been able to apply the new livery on AP-BMH. What was being done to AP-BMH during those days?
The grounding of other Boeing 777s in airline's fleet does not look like the main reason for bringing AP-BMH back to service on May 7 without new livery.
It shows poor planning in introduction of new livery.

Re: Another new livery by PIA?
looks like PIA is really short on spare parts and spare engines.
BMH got its spare parts from BGJ that is how it became operational.
How will PIA survive on fake promises.
It has no money for spares or pay for fuel or even pay for maintenance of engines lying overseas.
Every few months the government pays PIA enough to keep little bit of blood flowing to the heart.
No real progress. I think by end of the year either something major will happen or the airline will shut down.

Totally agree with Amaad. They need to start over with public-private partnership. PIA is beyond saving.

Re: Another new livery by PIA?
According to DAWN News channel, a foreign team arrived in Karachi yesterday to begin applying new PIA livery decals on airline's Airbus A320 registration AP-BLU today inside Ispahani wide-body aircraft maintenance hangar.
Initially, four aircraft will receive the new livery markings. Cost of applying new livery is USD 50,000/ per aircraft. It means the airline will spend a total of USD 200,000/- for applying new livery markings on four aircraft.

What is inside the skulls of PIA's management. There isnt money to pay salaries or for engine repairs and these geniuses are proceeding with this goat plan. Their neurons are all gone so it seems.

^ The new livery is just a smoke screen to hide airline's failures.

Re: Another new livery by PIA?
When Cyan took over as CEO, I posted on this site that he is 'Kirmani light'. Kirmani wasted millions on the province tails, this guy came up with the Bakra. Both had no prior aviation experience. Both are superficial showoffs. Both took millions as salary.
This guy shutdown NYC on the pretext that it was not profitable. The losses continue and the revenue from the NYC route is gone.
I am not saying he is responsible for the present state of affairs of the company but he is not the one who will bring it ashore. Lets face it, the company is insolvent, so it cant be sold. If they could, they would have. Only Fair Skies Policy can restore blood supply to this ailing entity.
Its not going to be easy but if there is a will it can be done.
