Looks like Qatar Airways Airbus A320 family aircraft at Lahore Airport in foggy weather. Possibly an old footage shown on various news channels.

More Than Six Hundred PIA Flights Disrupted in Two Weeks Due to Fog and Smog

Karachi, November 15, 2017:
Due to the weather conditions (dense fog and smog) prevailing in the country, especially in Southern Punjab and Upper Sindh for last fortnight, PIA flights schedule was affected significantly. From November 1 to November 15 nearly 604 PIA flights were disrupted, PIA spokesman said on Wednesday.

Keeping in view the weather forecast with coordination of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), PIA Management adopted a proactive approach to minimize the inconvenience caused to passengers. It involved rescheduling of flights and adjustment on alternate arrangements. Passengers were timely informed by PIA Call Centre while regular timely updates were also issued to the both print and electronic media and social media as well. PIA did face some difficulty in conveying messages to passengers due to unavailability of their contact numbers. It is therefore requested that all passengers must provide their contact numbers while making reservation. PIA regrets the inconvenience caused to its passengers due to disruption of flights because of dense fog and smog.

PIA spokesman said that the weather conditions that prevailed for two weeks were beyond the control of airline. The affected areas included Multan, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gwadar, Sukkur, Bahawalpur, Sialkot and Rahim Yar Khan. PIA adjusted its flights schedule based on eighty-three weather occurrences. During this period, the airline could not operate flights due to poor visibility and also keeping in view the safety requirements. He said that these weather occurrences caused 159 flight cancellations, 17 diversions, 82 rerouting of flights and also more than 200 delays. PIA spokesman further said that if one flight is delayed then as a consequence number of flights is affected as the same aircraft has to operate multiple flights. Due to this scenario, nearly 231 flights were also affected, PIA spokesman concluded.

KLM was operating these A330-200s before Shaheen Air inducted them in 2016.

KLM must have been operating them with latest equipment for operations in Europe and other continents in bad weather conditions.

I am sure there would be some passengers who would have been saying "Aen pilatan nau jahaaz hi ni uraana aanda saee tarah, thora jeya mausam kharab hoya tau bas ho gai enna dee".

I dont know how much is the cost of an CAT-3 ILS system to install and maintain, but if it is feasible for low operations airports like LYP, MUX etc, CAA should consider it now that with every year, we are getting Smog as well as fog.
