With the growth in air traffic at airports of Peshawar, Multan and Faisalabad, these airports are becoming strong future candidates for installation of newer Instrument Landing System (ILS) for smooth flight operations in winters when smog/fog affects these areas.

Serene 524, Shaheen 144, Airblue 413 , Airblue 402, all of these flights diverted to Karachi. Pakistan 653 diverted back to Islamabad and Pakistan 684 also diverted to Islamabad. The only flight that managed to land was 306 because it performed ILS CAT 3 but after landing the captain had to request for a follow me because it was difficult taxing to the stand.
Pakistam 653 and Serene 524 were the first one to go around after which all the rest decided to divert.
