The tender for 04 branded outlets and all was posted last month, anyone have information on whether or not they're ready or will be ready by the opening date?

A source in EK said it is likely that they will inaugurate on the 14th of August, but unclear whether ME3 carriers will shift overnight or in a slow phased transition to the new Airport.

If one has a return flight around 16/17th August from London on PK, where should they expect to be landing?

Expect to land at the old ISB. The switch to airport is going to take a lot of time. 14 Aug is only an inauguration date (which I personally think is also a political stunt) and is no guarantee that the airport can be operated 100% flawlessly from this date. I personally believe only some hajj flights will probably be taking off or landing after this date. All the major carriers will take some time to switch (could be anytime between 6 months to 1 year).

Also the access to airport is right now a total mess due to Metro being built. Lanes closed, diversions due to construction work can be seen on the way from Islamabad. The metro work clearly doesn't seem to be completing before the end of year.

According to PTV News, a parliamentary committee has proposed 'Quaid-e-Azam International Airport' as the name for New Islamabad International Airport.
