PIA Sells Five Old Airbus A310-300 Engines for More Than 270 Million Rupees

Karachi, December 21, 2017: PIA has fetched more than 270 million rupees from sale of five idle un-serviceable engines of Airbus A310-300 aircraft already grounded.

All rules and regulations of Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) were followed in the disposal of these engines with complete transparency. These engines were nearly 25-30 years old. Tender advertisements were placed in national as well as international dailies.

The proceeds from the sale of these five engines will be utilized by PIA Engineering Division to enhance the capability and development of infrastructure of the Engineering Department, PIA spokesman concluded.
