Re: New Islamabad International Airport Project
Today is March 31, 2015. Last year at March 20, 2014 when our PM Nawaz Sharif ordered PCAA to complete NIIA by March 31, 2015. But PCAA officials not interested to complete this project & spent Rs. 1 Billion illegally on exiting worst airport of the world without any tender by order of Adviser to PM of Aviation Division Mr. Shujahat Azeem who don't want to complete this airport till October 2016.

According to PTV News, today Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited the under construction airport and asked Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to complete airport construction work by March 31, 2015.
According to the news channel, construction of a new airport for Islamabad was initially planned in year 1984.
The construction work of new airport began in year 2007 and it was due to be completed in year 2010. The construction work kept getting delayed for variety of reasons.
According to briefing given to the prime minister during his visit to the under-construction airport today:
* Ninety-eight percent of aircraft fuel supply system work at the airport is complete.
* Fifty-five percent of Air Traffic Control (ATC) complex construction work at the airport is complete.
* The airport will have fifteen passenger boarding bridges.
During the briefing, the Prime Minister said that the new airport should have water supply reservoirs/dams and its own power station for electricity generation.

Re: New Islamabad International Airport Project
it won't complete even by 2016, because there is too much money to be made here. Maybe late 2017, just before election.
I was recently in old islamabad airport and while at security screening area, light went out 3 times within 5 mins, twice within 1 min. I asked security guy light goes out at islamabad airport too and he said "this airport is in Pakistan." so it goes out here too.
