A300 in 80's livery

Post by raihans »

Image
Found this A300 80's livery photo while searching my PC. Further, the reg on the a/c is also not visible properly. Photo was taken when the a/c was having non-pak reg some thing like F-WIEP or F-WIEF :?:

Any one here can post up some details about this A300.

Official Airbus Industrie photo taken at Airbus aircraft assembly plant in Toulouse, France, in 1979. The aircraft is PIA's very first A300B4 sporting pre-delivery French registration F-WZEP. It was delivered as AP-BAX to PIA.

Thanks Abbas for providing the information. Do you have any idea about the other PIA tail fin visible after the scandinavian A300?

Wonderful! That’s exactly what I’ve been looking for, a nice and most importantly high resolution pic of PIA A300B4 (which is a rarity) Thanks Raihan Bhai for sharing this Classic pic. The green “sohni dharti” tail in background seems to be of next A300 to be delivered?, AP-BAY???

Anyone know why PIA chose to have the black "naqaab" put on it's A300's cockpits? If you look in the background, the SAS cockpit does not have a similar black, neither did the aircraft once they donned the soprty PIA colors...

Maybe because black anti-glare paint around or below cockpit windows was part of early 1980s Green & Gold livery.

Examples:

PIA Fokker F-27 Friendship Mk 200 postcard - P.K.Chai Collection

PIA Boeing 737-340 postcard - P.K.Chai Collection

BTW, I loved PIA A300s in 80s livery.

This livery looks nice on the B737.

B737's are like the girl next door, nice enough, always there, but not much to look at.
