PIA Airbus A310 VVIP flight at Manchester - Photos by SENIOR

Post by Abbas Ali »

Here are photos of PIA Airbus A310-308 (registration AP-BEQ) taken by forum member SENIOR at Manchester Airport, UK, on April 4, 2006. The aircraft operating VVIP flight ‘Pakistan 2’ (PK-002) with Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz onboard made technical stop at Manchester before resuming its journey to USA.

Looks very neat! Thanks SENIOR for snapping them for us.

Why haven't they made the seat covers in RED-BLUE-RED scheme? Doesn't it look like the one we saw in the interior of BAK?

Asalamulkium,

Excellent, wonderful pictures. Quick Question! Shaukat Aziz going again to USA! Is it to meet bush or other ministers? That’s like 2 in nearly a span of few months!

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz is in USA to co-chair the first meeting of the United Nations High Level Panel (HLP) on strengthening the UN operation system in development, humanitarian assistance and environment.

During his stay in the New York besides attending the meetings of the Panel for two days, (April 5 and 6), the Prime Minister will have a very busy schedule. He will address students and teachers of Columbia University and meet former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

After three day stay in the New York, the Prime Minister will then leave for Spain for three day visit and to attend a Central Executive Board (CEB) meeting of UN agencies in Madrid from April 7 to 8.

I'm guessing this is not a dedicated VVIP aircraft. I can only notice a slight change in the seat configration. Any countermeasures onboard?

AP-BEQ is not a full-time VVIP transport aircraft. When it's not on VVIP duty, the aircraft operates normal scheduled passenger flights for the airline.

Great shots!!

So, are there 12+18+40 = 70 seats in this aircraft? they surely don't operate the aircraft on regular service with that many seats do they?

Is the front section (with 12 seats) any different than the mid? Looking at the picture below, it appears that the right side of the plane does not have a passageway going forward (or it may be the angle of the picture):

I think it may be the angle of the photo. Great pictures once again Senior.
