Apparenlty licencing ( from what ive heard) was the issue.

This shot below is probably the best shot which the Pashmina tail really shows off all its glory....

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/048541/M/

Im my opinion, the tail is great but a white body with just Pakistan doesnt do it for me, some more detail on the fuselage and engines is needed so not all the tail stands out but the fuselage aswell...

I actually read it of this forum quite a while back when Abbas had the www.tripod.historyofpia forum. Cant remember who the original person who claimed such a theory.

But apparently you have to register the livery you put on aircraft, and PIA ( i remember reading) didnt and it had to be replaced...i.ll see if i can find the link ..

Yes PIA's PR dept said that designers had not approved the work, I guess PIA did adopt it without permission, who deisgned it anyways?

That was the most beautiful design I ever saw on PIA or as a matter of fact on ANY AIRLINE ever, looking at its beauty at JFK, everytime I went to pick up/ drop off someone made me remember Pakistan, and brought tears to my eye, and a sense of jubilation to my heart. I really wish that PIA would bring back this livery. I dont know maybe I'm wierd, but when I use to see this livery, I use to get all excited, and happy inside, and I would want to fly PIA right away, no matter what their service was like. Apparently, now when I see PIA, I dont get that feeling anymore :(

By far the best tail PIA have ever had in their history, an A310, A300, F27 got the tail as well but no 737.

Well saying 'Mashallah' and 'Alhamdolillah' everytime I saw it didnt help it stay, infact it dispappeared in one year, strange.

Tail

Usalamulkium,

Excellent pictures. To be honest i believe, Yes it was an excellent Tail and that Tail had it reign of success. As fly1346 said

But unfortunately are PIA fleet was getting old and needed modernisation and along with this modernisation the Tail was altered. I still believe that the new Tail with the Pakistan Flag is brilliant and keeps the country’s name high and still provides that sense of jubilation.

Nothing wrong in your comments. Just as other members can admire their favourite livery you also can admire your favourite PIA livery.

I meant to say that after PIA's previous liveries, this one does not give a professional image accoridng to business norms worldwide, PIA ahve compromised on almost everything and now the livery too.
