Colombo- Karachi on Sri Lankan

Colombo's Bandaranaike Airport felt like an international airport on arrival as well as in the departure terminal. Both days there was lots of activity in the terminal and on the tarmac. Check was swift and immigration did not take more than 15 minutes in the queue. There was a good duty free shop and a good variety of places to eat. There are about 8-10 boarding bridges but obviously these are not enough for the airport. Our boarding was via bus and stairs.

Serendib Lounge- premium passenger lounge for UL and one world passengers. There was another lounge which was available on payment.

Departure on time and a speedy taxi to the active runway.
Lunch served soon after take off (service started about 20 minute into the flight) . Crew was friendly, polite and well-groomed.


Lunch- chicken biryani, aubergine/ baigan - quite tasty.


IFE screens were small and the USB port was non-functional (unlike on A320neo on the outbound flight). However, headphones were working and I watched a movie (a decent choice was available). We flew at a max of 38,000 ft and the decent was quick (took 15 minutes from 38,000 to landing). Arrived in Karachi 15 minutes ahead of schedule (around 15:00).

Karachi airport was quiet, with only a flydubai 738 on the international terminal. A QR A332F was being prepared for its journey.
