KHI-MAN via DXB

Post by Zulfiqar »

I returned to the UK last week.
Apologies for the quality of the photos here. I have been struggling to find the reasons why the resolution is so poor and why increasing the size to upload the photos here using photobucket messes up the the image. I believe that its due to a setting change in my camera. Which is probably my fault!

However i have loads of photos to share and will share them in stages when i get the time. I
I had already checked-in online and arrived at 10.15 for the 12.15 EK601 flight. The airport was buzzing with actvity and long queues (if you can call it that) people were there waiting to enter the airport. It took me 25 minutes to enter the terminal and pass through the first X-ray machine. I went to deposit my luggage and was told I have been upgrade to business class as the flight to Duibai was overbooked. I could not complain!
As they do in Pakistan., i was asked to get my suitcase screened before immigration. However the conveyor belts were broken and while airport guys were fixing it, queues built up. It took about 40 minutes before the belts were fixed. During this time i took some photos of hall. was surprised how much patience the passengers there showed. There were about 6 flights departing within 1.5 hours (lot for KHI). PIA London flight was delayed as at 1130 they were still calling for pasengers at 11.30. Immigration was again a chaos ant 12.00 I passed through the immigration/ASF checks and dashed to the gate.

interesting shots, i was there too but did not taken any shot within the terminal as i thought of security risk. If Riz was supposed to be with me then i would have taken the chance to photograph the Jinnah Intl. terminal too.

looking forward for the next batch of the trip... :)

Departure was delayed slightly (15 min) for the baggage to be loaded. The captain apologised for this and announced the flight time 1.30 min. The business class was full, however, the welcome was very hospitable, drinks were served as soon as we settled into our seats, and we provided our menu details.

meanwhile i took a few more photos. A PIA 737 was in position to taken (background).

This could be the Dubai or the Khatmandu flight AP-BEB...Although both these flights were supposed to leave with 10 min of each other, there weren't any other planes docked at the gates.

Landed at MAN 5 minutes ahead of time. While going towards the train station I noticed 2 PIA 777 parked at Terminal 2. Unforunately due to curved glass on the bridge to the station to create a tunnel the photos ended up with special effects!!

Thankyou for viewing.
For those who have not seen them, i have posted some aviation/space related stamps in the PIA and International Collectibles & Memorabilia Forum.
