These beautiful photos of PIA airliners in Polish air space remind me of great Polish pilots who flew aircraft of Pakistan Air Force and PIA.

One of them was Capt. Jan Maximovich better known & remembered as Capt. Maximo who flew PIA airliners. In 1960s/70s PIA Boeing 720B and Boeing 707 jets under the command of Capt. Maximo might have crossed Polish air space on flights between Pakistan and Europe/USA.

Hello Friends.

Beautiful weather, free from work so I had to be resting. I'm very nice to know the Polish peoples and the Polish peoples had some contribution to your country. Sharks again over my sky, the beautiful view.

Somehow I just missed reading this thread. I had the privilege to fly and meet Captain. Maximo. We were stuck In NYC in Jan, 1974 because of oil embargo for 14 days. On our return flight it was Captain Maximo commanding flight from JFK to LHR B-707-320B. Few times he came to our home also.

I think we do have some of his photos in our home in Karachi, inshallah, next time when I am there I'll bring them. There was another Polish pilot in PIA with the name Dujick (sp?).

^ Will be nice to see photos of Capt. Maximo.

Here's photo of crew of PIA inaugural flight to Moscow operated with Boeing 720-040B (AP-AMH) received at then Soviet Union's Moscow-Shereymetyevo International Airport by airport's Chief I.F. Matveev on May 10, 1964. The historic flight operated on Karachi-Moscow-Frankfurt-London route made PIA the first non-communist airline to operate flights between Asia and Europe via Moscow.

Someone told me that PIA flight captain in the photo looks like Capt. Maximo but I've not been able to confirm it from other sources. Is it possible to identify PIA captain in this photo?
