It was a Boeing 777-300ER and according to Airliners.net the registration of the aircraft was A6-EBR.

You can view a few shots of the inaugural flight at the following link: http://www.airliners.net/discussions/ge ... n/3678402/

Yes, two of them. They are used on the six weekly flights between Dubai and Sao Paulo.

It would be nice to see another 772LR @ YYZ. Too bad all the flights are during the week.... I'll have to wait a while before I can catch one of them!

I think AI will also start operating their 772LR to YYZ once delivered....

They Used their B777-300ER.
Here is an example for a flight to Toronto:

From Dubai AE (DXB) Terminal 1
Departure Time 0835
To Toronto-Pearson ON CA (YYZ) Terminal 1
Arrival Time 1455

Meal M
Aircraft Type 77W

The 772LR has fewer seats than the 77W and I am sure EK is trying to capture a sizeable market share ex Toronto with the limited 3 x weekly frequencies it has.

Yes you are right.
But Emirates has chosen the 77W.
Emirates will shortly upgrade their flights from 3 per week to 5 or 7 per week.

I hope you're right, but right now the bi-lateral only allows 3 x weekly flights to be operated. :(

Emirates is now positioned to take away the most profitable route of PIA...YYZ. Does EK fly non-stop to Toronto, does it make a stop?

nonstop... but 3 x week only with not that good connections to KHI (6 hrs) LHE (8hrs only 1 x weekly) or ISB (4.5hrs - 8hrs depending on day) The Pakistan-Toronto connections are much better
