CHICAGO, July 26, 2007  The innovative Boeing [NYSE: BA] Blended Wing Body research aircraft  designated the X-48B  flew for the first time on July 20 at NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base in California. The 21-foot wingspan, 500-pound unmanned test vehicle climbed to an altitude of 7,500 feet during this first flight test, which lasted 31 minutes. The X-48B flight test vehicle was developed by Boeing Phantom Works in cooperation with NASA and the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory to gather detailed information about the stability and flight-control characteristics of the BWB design.

This concept RC model shows that Boeing B797 is slowly taking shape as few pictures of this concept has been floating around for sometime now.
This aircraft is Boeing's answer to A380!, they did same before and now doing it again, lets hope this concept actually materializes and not get scrapped as couple other Boeing's proposals before B787 Dreamliner was finalized. I think Boeing is pretty serious about this one as they have developed this tri turbined model weighting 500lbs that flew to height 7500' and doing wind tunnel tests on it too!!.
