I see winglets in the supposed 787 pic in the BBC article...Is this a new development?

The 787-3 will have blended winglets, whereas 787-8 & 787-9 will have raked wingtips.

The picture in the BBC article is of a 787-3.

Strange naming convention Boeing has picked considering that the 787-3 will have the greatest seating capacity out of the family.
