The report is not a surprise although the statement that pilots did not even have a slightest hunch of that they were going to crash until 3 seconds before the impact is truly shocking and unbelievable. Certainly it puts a question mark over training standards of AF that their pilots had whatsoever no clue that they have stalled, are going down and most importantly, pitching the nose up to save the plane.
Apart from pilots, instruments have also been blamed but primary responsibility lies on pilots. Instrument malfunctioning could not have caused such a huge accident alone. It was avoidable even with instruments failure.
