All London Airports Closed due to Volcano Ash

All London airports have been closed after a massive cloud of ash from a volcano in Iceland drifted into UK airspace.

The ash cloud from Iceland represents a risk to aircraft since it can damage engines.

Have just heard on the radio that no aircraft will be permitted into UK airspace from 11am.

From Mid-Day UK time all UK airspace will be closed

At 12:06 I saw 2 narrowbodies fly past my window. Its gone quiet now and havnt seen any more over the last 10 mins

Update: Danish airspace will be closed at 5pm. Swidish Airspace to be closed at 9pm

PK757 FROM Lahore to London showing as cancelled. I wonder where it has gone to based on the fact it would have started its journey already

April 15, 2010 PIA flight PK-757 Lahore-London was called back to Lahore.

I was told by ground staff here at JFK on Saturday that a PAK-MAN-JFK flight was diverted to CDG. I beleive that it is still there.
