Malaysia Airlines is downsizing its staff and restructuring the airline after making losses in the past.
Termination of jobs would involve terminating services of all 20,000 employees but two thirds would be rehired by the new airline (MAS Bhd.).
The carrier has been trying to sell two of its A380s in bid to downsize its fleet and concentrate more on regional routes.
Their new CEO Christopher Muller is managing the the restructuring.
It seems that he in the past had helped to turn around carriers like Air Lingus, Belgium's Sabena and Lufthansa.

As far as I know Turkish Airlines is planning to acquire at least one of the A380 from MAS.
