*sigh*

I so much love the OLD Lufthansa theme of the 1990s. Its full of emotion and awakens in you the yearning to travel, to fly, to feel at home and well cared for on bord.

See - and HEAR - it for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUZgmx4-dLI

It's an adapted version of Joe Cocker's song "Up where we belong" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8sFtJV6-C8 - in the sung version of Lufthansa it used to go: We (Lufthansa) lift you up where you belong . . . Really liked it a lot - and in some sad moments it can drive tears into my eyes . . .

YES - :) How long ago all that seems from today . . . how different the times used to be then . . . the whole world was a different

(off-topic - sorry for that in advance)

But since yesterday there is quite a shock here that Lufthansa is kind of outsourceing ALL of its ultra-short. short- and medium-haul flights as of January 2013 to a RE-formed "Germanwings" - only the already existing name will remain.

If it is consolation to you at PIA / HOP, The three biggest airlines and yet in the process of fast expansion ist not only vacuum cleaning your airspace but here in Europe as well.

I have just recently heard about this but I didn't get the chance to read about it yet. I will check it out when I get to work later on today. Just out of curiosity, how does this effect you? Are you a Lufthanseat as well or are you a frequent flyer?
