Quetta flights cancelled due to bad weather

QUETTA (July 23 2007): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), AirBlue and Shaheen Airlines on Sunday cancelled their flights to and from Quetta due to dusty and bad weather in the valley and its suburb, PIA sources told APP.

PIA cancelled its two flights including PK-329 Islamabad-Quetta and PK-328 Quetta-Islamabad while two flights PK-301 and PK-323 arrived here from Karachi and Lahore respectively, but did not fly back to Karachi and Lahore.

Meanwhile, AirBlue flight ED-502 coming from Karachi to Quetta and back to Karachi was also cancelled due to poor visibility. Besides, Shaheen Airlines operating Lahore-Quetta-Lahore flight NL-153 was also cancelled due to bad weather.

A dust-storm enveloped the provincial capital and hit its surroundings which did not only reduce visibility to less than a kilometer on Sunday, but also affected both air and vehicular traffic in the city.

Delay in arrival of Harry Potter in Quetta riles fans

QUETTA: Harry Potter enthusiasts failed to grab their copy of the final of installment of the series, titled “Harry Portter and the Deathly Hallows”, for the second consecutive day in Quetta markets as a flight supposed to arrive with the books was cancelled.
