Boeing Delivers First 777-300ER To PIA

Post by BOEING777 »

EVERETT, Wash., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pakistan International Airlines today took delivery of its first of three Boeing (NYSE: BA) 777-300ERs on order. The newest member of PIA's long-haul, wide-body fleet departed Paine Field this morning en route to its new home base at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. PIA is one of the first airlines to have ordered and taken delivery of three variants of Boeing's highly successful 777 family, and the airline was the launch customer for the 777-200LR (Longer Range). PIA currently has three 777-200ERs and two 777-200LRs in operation and will take delivery in February of a second 777-300ER, as well as an additional 777-200ER on lease from ILFC.

What is the status of AP-BHV.

Don't see on any PIA schedule. Is it grounded in Karachi, or doing domestic flights?

When is it going on the international routes???

Yes indeed the B 773ERs first route is LHE-MAN twice a week on WED and FRI only.

110JANLHEMAN«
10JAN WED LHE/Z‡5 MAN/-5
1PK 709 C0 D0 A0 P0 R0 LHEMAN 1230 1600 773 SL 0 35 DCA /E
X0 Y0 K0 V0 E0 Z0

Ive noticed that PIA is abbreviating its B 773Es as 773 in sabre and not 77W which SQ-EK have...probably because PIA dont have the B 773A version that SQ-EK have hence the need to differentiate.

I found the 773 identifier to be quite confusing... I always thought that it was was standard across all airlines, but it seems that this is not the case. :?

Air Canada is designating its new 773ERs as 77W as well as EK,SQ,AF etc

So, after this delivery, how many types of 777s will PIA fly?

77LR (shortened to 777)
772ER (shortened to 772)
773ER (shortened to 773)

is this correct? any more?

The 777ER also seems to be doing some domestic routes, which is good. eg:
