Just wondering what is happening to the grounded Fokker crews.
Considering the ATR42s are not arriving early, does this mean that some Fokker crews will remain grounded until May 2007?
Plus what will happen to Fokker pilots that just got trained in Indonesia for the F-27s, are they grounded for a while now??
Would it make sense to return some of the F-27 captains to 747s and A310s as first officers until its their turn to go on the ATR42s???
Status of F-27 Crews???

What will be the fate of remaining F27 crew especially the lastly hired cadet pilots? Will they also move to ATR42 in later period?PALPA wrote:Total crew is 62 which is so far grounded and among 12 of them have moved to ATR training and the senior crew is moving to B737

Shortage on the 737 fleet???
How long does a captain need to fly on a F.27 before getting promoted to the 737 fleet??
I would imagine that PIA would keep the 737 fleet well equiped as the F.27 crews must be readily available from the new pilots joining PIA.
Most F.27 captains have 15 plus years of flying experiance, including the first officer job on the 737s and A300/A310 fleets. Similar experiance on a foreign carrier probably allows pilots to become captains on jets.

In co-ordination with Southwest and Singapore? I'm confused, can you please elaborate on this.PALPA wrote:Well the chances are that most probably they`ll move to ATR but let me tell you that its in the air that PIA is planning to directly induct some of cadet pilots to B737 ,this is so far being done in co-ordination of South West airlines and Singapore Airlines.
