MULTAN: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has asked the legal heirs of the passengers, who died in July 10 Fokker crash in Multan, to submit their claims on July 21. A team of legal experts would assist them in filing and submitting the claims as per PIAÃÂÂs requirement, said District Manager Bashiruddin Khan while talking to PPI on phone. He said that Rs0.5 million would be paid as insurance money and Rs0.2 million as compensation to each family as announced by the PIA chairman Tariq Kirmani. The district manager said that belongings of the ill-fated passengers would be displayed so that these could be recognised by their relatives and heirs and would be handed over only to legal heirs.

Compensation for Multan crash victims
ISLAMABAD, July 29: Pakistan International Airlines would pay Rs2 million each to heirs of the victims of the Multan Fokker crash, an official of the airline said on Saturday.
The national carrier’s turboprop Fokker F-27 en route to Islamabad via Lahore had crashed after take off on July 10, killing all 45 people on board.
The compensation is being provided under limitations of liability of the carrier under conditions of carriage of passengers and baggage.
Compensation amounting to Rs.500,000 had already been given by the airline to the heirs of the victims, PIA’s spokesman Capt Nasir Jafferi said.
