Kuwait Emir's trip aircraft?

Post by CoyBoy »

Was it a Kuwait Airways 744? I missed footage of him arriving on the news channels, in March a Yemenia 747SP and Sri Lankan Airlines A320 did VIP flights to ISB.

I would imagine it to be an A340-300.

Kuwaiti VIPs use the B744 which is basically the Emir's a/c.

Not always, the aircraft does operated scheduled flights too, however, the upper deck it sealed and no one is allowed to use it.

It is only opened or used when the aircraft is operating on VIP flights such as this one.

Yes, the upper deck is reserved for Kuwait's ruling family.

One thing I noticed is that the aircraft sports Kuwait Government emblem on permanent basis behind the flight deck windows. The other aircraft in Kuwait Airways fleet do not sport this emblem.

Kuwait Government not only own B744 but also A320 and I think A310 too entitled as STATE OF KUWAIT instead of Kuwait Airways but operated by Kuwait Airways for Governorate movements.

Off Topic: Al-Jabriya ( الجابریہ ), name of area in Kuwait; our Pakistani Embassy is also located there in Al-Jabriya and protected by Kuwait Special Forces means special protocol 8) which I have never seen for other embassies in that area!
