KARACHI: Turkish Airlines and Pakistan International Airlines will start two flights in a week from Islamabad to Istanbul and further to Frankfurt and back to Islamabad beginning from March 30.

An agreement signed on March 3, between Turkish Airlines and Pakistan International Airlines in Istanbul. As agreed, these flights will be Codeshare between both parties. It is the first Codeshare partnership agreement for PIA in its history and is highlighted as important point.

Dr Temel Kotil, chief executive officer of Turkish Airlines said, “this agreement is just the beginning of our partnership and Turkish Airlines is looking forward to have full partnership at all other levels.”

The flights will operate on Islamabad-Istanbul-Frankfurt-Istanbul-Islamabad route twice a week.

PIA will be the operating carrier and Turkish Airlines will have 50 seats with its own flight number as marketing carrier. There are already 4 flights in a week on Karachi-Istanbul-Karachi route.

Good News.

Although hope to see some flights Via dubai/ Istanbul to destinations in Europe from karachi.

Flights from khi via lhe/isl to destinations in europe don attract alot of traffic for PIA from khi. With the frequencies also not viable. Although PIA faces cut throat competation from emirates with their daily 4 flights to dubai and great connectivity to europe but PIA should penetrate the northern hub and this seems to be one good leap.
