Iv heard many times while i was younger that when an aircraft used to fly over the Karakorams, the magnet in the mountains would cause alot of turbulance to the aircraft, as the plane is made out of metal?
can this be true?

a few years back my dad was operating a flight to some city in Europe..dont remember if it was Paris or Zurich or whatever...but we were at FL 370 and while flying over the alps we had a heck lot of turbulence..he told me that it was because high speed winds which slam into the Alps and then have to make their way around them by going over them..which causes turbulence een at such high altitudes..this might be the case in the karakoram too...
