They're working on revamping the website for the new airport.Aphelion wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 7:40 pm Does anyone know the website for the new airport? www.islamabadairport.com.pk is linked to BBIA with no flight info for the new airport.
The old website isn't linked to BBIA and doesn't need to be, the military base doesn't need a website so they'll just update the existing one which is taking much longer than it normally should.

Re: New Islamabad International Airport Project
Today, the Supreme Court of Pakistan in its hearing of rain water entry/accumulation at new Islamabad International Airport asked about tendering process for airport construction and company/companies that constructed the airport. Complete record is sought by the court.
Court has also asked Pakistan CAA to bring CCTV footage of rain water inside the airport in next hearing.
CAA officials informed the court that video of water inside the airport is one-and-a-half year old.
The court remarked that social media should not be taken that seriously and anxiety among people should end in case video of water at the airport is an old video.
CEO PIA and airline's Islamabad station manager also have been asked to appear before the court in next hearing of the case on June 13.

RAWALPINDI: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Friday took notice of rainwater flooding the newly constructed Islamabad International Airport and directed the airport manager and head of the construction company to appear before the Lahore High Court on Sunday.
According to sources, the chief justice Supreme Court was leaving for Karachi from Islamabad at 4:30pm when he noticed pool of rainwater. He asked his protocol officer to call the airport manager, but at that time he was not available at the airport.
Later, the deputy terminal manager came but he could not give satisfactory answers to the chief justice questions.
The Chief Justice directed the airport manager and the head of the construction company to appear before the LHC on Sunday, June 10 to explain how rainwater entered the newly built airport.
During recent downpour the aviation building, build for airlines offices, was flooded with rainwater damaging office equipment.
The PIA staff asked Civil Aviation Authority to pay compensation for the damages caused by rainwater. The PIA staff asked the authority to rectify the problems.
A PIA official in his emergency call to his seniors said that he had been calling the CAA officials as his vehicle was stuck in mud during heavy rain and Human Resource record of the airline was badly damaged during flooding but no one was responding to his emergency call. —Mohammad Asghar

Newspaper photo showing Airport signboard on a road in Faizabad. The signboard directs motorists to old airport in Chaklala/Rawalpindi instead of Islamabad's new airport located in Fateh Jang. Such signboards are causing inconvenience to passengers making them arriving late at the new airport and even missing their flights.

Re: New Islamabad International Airport Project
I appreciate the concern shown by the supreme court, but they need to put their house in order first. Maybe DG CAA should take notice of the inept judiciary and the long list of cases in our lower courts, lasting 10's of years without providing justice to the people.Abbas Ali wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 7:55 am Supreme Court of Pakistan has rejected 300-page report on new Islamabad International Airport submitted today during hearing of case on entry of rain water in the airport.

Operation of metro bus service to IIA becomes an issue
By Syed Irfan Raza | 6/16/2018
ISLAMABAD: Though the Pakistan Muslim LeagueNawaz (PML-N) government almost completed the project of metro bus service from Peshawar Mor to Islamabad International Airport (IIA), it is not clear who is going to run the bus service.
The authorities concerned are said to be in a fix over the matter af ter the Capital Development Authority, National Highway Authority (NHA) and the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMTA) refused to operate buses on the 26.6 km-long route after completion of the project at an estimated cost of Rs16 billion by the NHA.
Earlier, it was believed that the PMTA would run the bus service but when the authority refused the CDA and NHA were asked to take the responsibility.
However, both the organisations also expressed their inability saying they did not have the experience or any facility to run the service.
`At a meeting it was considered that the CDA should ply the metro buses from Peshawar Mor to the new airport. However, we refused to take this responsibility because we have no such expertise,` said CDA Member Planning Asad Kayani.
He said the problem surfaced when PMTA refused to fulfil its commitment to run the service.
The official said authorities concerned were quite worried that how the service would be run as 90pc work on the project had completed.
The NHA has so far constructed a separate road, underpasses, pavements besides installing streetlights. but some work is still underway to complete the bus stations.
When contacted, NHA spokesman Kashif Zaman said the authority was about to complete the project but it cannot not run the bus service. `We also have no such expertise to ply metro buses on the new route,` he added.
The official said the issue was quite serious because a huge amount of money had been spent on the project and it would remain useless if the buses were not operated. He said earlier authorities in Punjab had taken the responsibility to run the bus service but now they had backed out.
The metro project was launched in view of the new airport that started operations last month. However, there is no public bus service to facilitate the citizens travelling to and from the airport.
The PML-N government did not make arrangements to import buses for the project.
In the absence of a bus service, passengers will have to rely on cabs and other private vehicles.
In February this year, the then prime minister Shahid Khagan Abbasi took notice of the uncertainty regarding the operation of the new metro bus service and wrote a letter to the NHA. He had directed the NHA to float a request for proposals and immediately start the tendering process for the procurement of buses.
