PEW and PIA 777's

Post by CoyBoy »

Will this city ever get the aircraft? I guess I need to elaborate, there could be a market for the type on Saudi routes as well as Dubai, in peak season for sure if not otherwise.

Does 777 need extra runway length to land as compared to A310? I mean can ever LYP (Faisalabad) have 777 there too?

I dont know about the runway length of PEW, if it is long enough 777 can be considered for some routes in peak season.

Dont know about LYP ever getting them, but PEW being a provincial capital and one of PIA's most profitable routes I believe could do with this upgrade, the runway was lengthened by Emirates to acccomodate its A330's and taking advantage of this development and crew displeasure at overnight stay in PEW Saudi Arabian now fly 777's there with extra staff onboard for the return leg plus accomodating more passengers over the A300.

I think Saudi's B777 also used the lengthened runway.

Obviously they could'nt have operated 777 on a runway that could handle nothing bigger than the A300.

BTW SV are using the 777 only to accomodate extra crew as I mentioned earlier as they dont want to stay overnight in Peshawar otherwise A300 was doing perfectly on the service.
