Why does PIA need five narrow body aircraft on short term wet lease??

These planes cannot be used for umra or Hadj flights!!

Could the 737-300 fleet be getting grounded for major upgrade work??

The orginal six 737s are 20 years old, and maybe PIA is going to get them upgraded to use for another five years.

Because if it was extra capacity that PIA needed, then why only lease for around 3 months.

They are probably getting the five narrow body aircraft for increase demand on the domestic routes and the gulf routes PIA plans to increase frequencies

Replacing the 310s with the leased planes on the domestic routes so that 310s can be send to the new destination that will be introducted soon such as PIA plan to introduce instanbul, j'bourg, glasow, etc
