This is not uncommon for flights at the start or end of holidays, even pre-corona, esp. on destinations where one side is responsible for the bulk of demand. Flights between egypt and europe around christmas see similar one-way traffic.baberblues wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 12:39 amI presume maybe the inbound flight or cargo must be allowing the route to continue? I seen someone quote tweeting that the Virgin flight had 2 passengers.! Talk about an upgrade!

According to PIA spokesperson, the lone passenger on chartered Hi Fly Airbus A330 Manchester to Islamabad flight was accompanying dead body of his relative transported by the aircraft. The passenger was allowed to board the aircraft on humanitarian basis.

It's not surprising that flights from UK have such poor loads given the restrictions imposed by Pakistan. Surely the flight could only be financially/commercially viable if the return leg has a good number of pax.

Can’t PIA get a one way ISB-MAN contract with the charter airline? If its possible then the positioning the aircraft at ISB would be the company’s headache.

May I travel abroad?
Not unless you have a good excuse. “You can only travel internationally – or within the UK – where you first have a legally permitted reason to leave home,” says the government.
Essential journeys are possible: for work, medical treatment, legal purposes or urgent compassionate reasons.

Imminent announcement either today or over the next few days that a negative COVID PCR test within 72 hours will become mandatory for anyone entering the UK by air, sea or train.

PIA website is showing a schedule and fares for Man-Isb flights in March and April. I was hoping to see only the chartered flights but it is showing almost daily with B777. Very strange.
