Qatar Airways has been allowed to transport passengers from Islamabad to Doha till March 29. Pakistani authorities have refused to give further extension to such flights. The airline has cancelled operation of such flights from March 30 to April 4.

Resumption of normal international flight operations in Pakistan expected on April 4/5.

Covid 19 infection is not slowing down in Pakistan its only the start of the upward curve, I am sure as situation gets worse in Pakistan other countries will not accept passengers from here.

Government of Pakistan understands difficulties faced by Pakistanis stranded abroad due to suspension of international flights to Pakistan, said Prime Minister Imran Khan during a press briefing in Islamabad on March 27.

From April 4, Pakistanis will be allowed to enter Pakistan after undergoing thorough screening process against COVID-19, said Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Pakistani airports and quarantine facilities in the country have been prepared, say government officials.

Lot of people who were covid 19 positive came through our airports and spread the disease in Pakistan.

There is no way to check a patient with corona virus until that person is fully sick.

Bad idea. Pakistan should extend the ban till 30th april.

* Airlines will not be allowed to transport passengers from Pakistan to other countries from March 29 to April 4.

* Countries can request for operation of special flights between March 29 and April 4 to transport/repatriate their citizens from Pakistan.

* A Thai Airways flight is arriving in Islamabad tonight with Pakistani passengers who were stranded in Bangkok. It's the last such flight to transport stranded Pakistanis. No more Pakistanis left stranded at any foreign airport. Government through talks with other countries has arranged visas for Pakistanis who were stranded at other airports.

* International flight operations to/from Pakistan to be resumed gradually from April 4 for thorough COVID-19 screening of arriving passengers. Decision on gradual resumption of international flights to/from Pakistan to be taken in next two-three days.

* International flights to Pakistan were suspended till April 4 to complete foolproof arrangements for COVID-19 screening of arriving passengers at airports.

Is the first point not a contradiction to the second? Does that mean Qatar can still operate?

^ Between March 29 and April 4, countries can request for operation of special flights for transportation of their citizens from Pakistan

It means during this time period, Qatar can request for operation of Qatar Airways special flight from Pakistan to Qatar only for the transportation of Qatari nationals.

Thanks that makes more sense.

It's a shame, we had Qatar Airways flights booked for 1 April, we were ready to go home to the UK and they do this to us. Third time our flight is cancelled, now earliest flight is 13 April, this is a nightmare for us.

I dont understand why the Pakistan government is against allowing foreign nationals to go home. We are struggling to get hold of basic things like food for the past week under lockdown.

Passenger COVID-19 screening walk through gates for seven major international airports of Pakistan expected to arrive from China on aircraft on March 31.

These walk through gates will be useful in case decision is taken for the resumption of international flight operations to/from Pakistan on April 4.
